The 1/2A Country Boy, designed by Jim Clem in 1976, was published in the March 1977 issue of Model Aviation. It was reported to by the ideal compromise for 1/2A Free Flight, with a relatively high aspect ratio (7.5 to 1),and a good gliding (Lucky Lindy)airfoil. With 46" span and275 sq. in. of wing area, the model is small enough to climb swiftly and yet glide well with a target weight of 7 oz. The Country Boy was chosen by the National Free flight Society for one-design competition at the 2010 Nationals, flown to Nostalgia Rules, using any Nostalgia legal engine or TD .049-051. We used a Medalion .049 and Texas Timer.http://www.texastimers.com.
