Both Flying Aces Club (FAC) and Society of Antique Modelers (SAM) fly Old Time Rubber events for models with a wing span of 36 in. and a max area of 150 sq. in. with fixed landing gear for an Rise-Off-Ground (ROG) take off. FAC allows a plastic prop, but SAM requires a prop as shown on the original plan, not to exceed 1/3 of the wingspan.
| Weight Rule |
B-501 |
 |
| Weight Rule designed by Earl Stahl in 1938 has a 36 in. wing span with an area of 138 sq. in. This model may be flown in either FAC or SAM events depending on the prop selected. |
| Gin-U-Win |
B-508 |
 |
| The Gin-U-Win was designed by Bud Romak as a special one-design model for a special event to be held at the Muncie Nats, to be known as the Gin & Tonic Challenge. The model has an Old Time flavor with cabin and take-off peg. Since this is intended to be a sport model, there is substantial structure providing a robust rubber powered free flight, but do not doubt for a moment that lacks in performance. Always light your fuse. To participate in a Gin & Tonic challenge you must first build a Gin-U-Win either from plans provided by the designer or from a BMJR kit, and be present at the Nats. Or build and host a G&T challenge of your own. |
